You maybe know George Clooney and his love for coffee? Well he got me... I looked for a holder and came up with this prototype. I realised the definitve model in American walnut. Cross section of the slats being 25 mm by 30 mm. First I planed 1/8 inch grooves with the small Rapier.
Then I made a another fence for the Veritas rabbet plane and marked the angle. The fence worked fine, because the outer edge of the plane could move in the groove.
The 8 slats profiled as they will come together later on. The oak batten fixes the distance between two profiles at 1 inch.
In order to fix the slats I doweled them. Each dowel had to pass through the plate as I wanted to avoid torn slats. More in a second part...
